Issue: #2
Reading time: 5 minutes
Hello, hello! Welcome to the second issue of my monthly AI for allied health newsletter. I hope you got a few useful tidbits from the first issue and hopefully I can share a few more today with you. It’s been a big month for AI, as it continues it’s exponential growth and utilisation. It’s also shaping up to be a big month for The Training Club; we’ve got another live webinar on the 19th August (details below), we’re supporting a number of allied health businesses with internal training for staff, and a few more businesses with technology implementation projects, I’m busy also writing the AI intensive course and planning the webinars for the rest of the year. Exciting times! In today’s newsletter I want to share some news, tools and prompts you might find helpful for your practice with AI.
Industry News
It’s Olympics time! I’m a huge sports fan so am loving watching a variety of sports all the way from Paris each day at the moment. Did you know that the Paris Olympics has seen the implementation of a huge amount of AI across the games? Here are a couple of the ways AI is revolutionising the games:
· 8K live streaming, enabled by AI technology, for the first time.
· Generative AI in broadcasting to create personalised daily briefings for NBCUniversal viewers with an AI created commentator.
· AI powered fan activations to analyse sporting drills and match athlete’s profiles in sports.
· AI analysis for athletes, to improve biomechanical performance.
· AI video surveillance to monitor crowds to enhance security.
· AI powered 3D models to improve accessibility with indoor and voice navigation through smartphone apps.

In health-related news, a California based company, Avenda Health in partnership with UCLA Health, published a paper in the Journal of Urology on the Unfold AI software, which detected prostate cancer at an 84.7% accuracy, compared to the doctors, which detected the cancer manually between 67.2- 75.9%. They also observed that the AI assistant helped doctors to predict the size of the cancer 45 times more accurately and consistently than without AI. They concluded that the “AI assistance made doctors both more accurate and more consistent.”

Essential Artificial Intelligence Tips
I wanted to share an AI tool that you might like to check out. Heidi Health is an AI powered tool specifically designed for health professionals. It’s a documentation tool which allows you to transcribe sessions and can format your notes automatically in your preferred format. The Heidi team state that they have privacy and data management policies that align with GDPR (European) and HIPPA (USA) requirements, and the Australian Privacy Principles (amongst others, but they’re the big ones to look out for).
Heidi has both a free and a paid version of the tool.
Check Heidi out here. NB. This is an affiliate link. This means if you join or purchase via this link, I may receive an affiliate commission. I only recommend products that I believe will be valuable to you.

Prompt of the Month
Each month, I’ll be sharing a useful AI prompt designed to enhance your practice!
This month’s prompt focusses on tailoring intervention activities to a client’s interest.
How to use:
1. Input the prompt into your preferred AI tool (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, or other).
2. Customise to your client’s needs.
3. Edit as required after the response is produced. E.g. you might want more options, or you might want the responses tailored in a specific way.
“I’m an Australian occupational therapist, I’m working with an adult who is autistic and experiences anxiety. They find meditation difficult and especially breathing exercises. They love cats and have cats as pets. Can you suggest 10 mindfulness activities that might be helpful for them, considering the above for this client?”
